Written by a second rate hack who uses stereotypical southern language that's ignorant period. The writer shows his/her lack of skill and simple understanding of romance that even the most basic of readers has. The level of skill is highschool at best, or college freshman. And still the lack of substantive knowledge that every reader of romance novels for any length of time can spot in a minute. It's just sad. Apparently, either Ms. Marton has sold out, her family has, or HP has found a loophole. Regardless, both have betrayed the trust of us, their readers. And with such a talentless, ignorant poser too. I gave it one star because the heroine was a virgin, one because I finished it.

I was attracted to this story as I had wanted to read about a ballet dancer as the heroine. Unfortunately, most romance novels only feature ex-ballet dancers (they met with an accident and had to quit the stage so are now trying to establish a dance school). I was hoping for a stronger glimpse into the dance world and it didn't happen, but that's okay.

What I wasn't okay with, was how dumb the hero was. Even though he knows the "sheik" is a criminal and he can see the heroine's hands are bound and she's American - he believes the sheik's story that she's a lying whore he took under his wing. The hero is supposed to be this ex-Special Foces, ex-super secretive beyond CIA worker and he doesn't at all believe the heroine's story of white slavery! When the couple finds temporary sanctuary that is just way over-the-top too good to be true, he should have definitely looked the gift horse in the mouth. He should have been peppering the "manager" of the sanctuary about immediate communications to the US. I was surprised and disappointed how the brothers just left the heroine in Dubai with not a follow-up on her well being. Other holes in the story: there should have been some mention of being questioned by government officials, Interpol, whatever, over the whole white slavery kidnapping. And lastly, I just really found the "hero" not to be an honorable enough guy in the beginning - the way he tears her bra in front of others to humiliate her and how he considers dumping her and leaving her with the sheik - this is not a hero.

I put off my review because I really wasn't sure how I felt..... and here it is 24 hrs later and I'm still shaking my head. There are "romance" novels where the h is abducted/captured, raped and then falls in love with her gorgeous captor. That scenario really wasn't the case here and probably wouldn't fit HP parameters. The H, a seasoned special forces and "agency" guy, has decided that the Sultan, is a lying, scheming violent man not to be trusted. Knowing that, why would he believe that the h is a prostitute.... and she's so good at being a whore, she's just pretending it's rape because she likes it rough...... Really? Let us not forget, the ballerina got the drop on Mr big bad special forces Guy with a small nail file hidden in her tiny thong..... ??? Unbelievably, it just got more crazy and convoluted as it went. The H was a jerk, the h a tease, and it was all about lust rather than a romance. There were aspects of this story that could have worked; they could have staged a pretend rape scene to keep the Sultan and his men happy, all the while working towards a prepared escape. He could have been that strong, honorable, alpha hero and their lusty romance could've bloomed while on the run for their lives. As it was, this just didn't work for me.....d:(

I have loved the 'Wilde' series of books by this author and decided to go back and read some of her earlier books. This one was just awful and very 'bodice ripper'. Seriously not credible and I had absolutely no idea what the main characters saw in each other besides lust. Mercifully the book was short. The h is kidnapped and presented to the H as a gift in a middle Eastern country by the ruler. All of it is a ruse to distract the H who is there on business to try and investigate one of his father's missing employees. The H thinks that the h is a prostitute and treats her like that for most of the book. Hideous.

Sandra is one of my favourite writers and she knows the best nerves to touch.A very emotional story with the right amount of love and romance.Loved reading the book.
The main characters are very likable and it's a nice change from the traditional Greek and Italian tycoon stories with the pig-headed ultra alpha-male protagonists. Cameron Knight is a nice guy and Leanna is very strong, the chemistry is pretty decent and the story flows well.
