Late at night on a deserted street in downtown Toronto, Amanda Martin is attacked from behind. Suddenly a mysterious woman with a gun steps out to confront the attacker; Amanda manages to escape. Racing for safety, she hears the sound of a single gunshot.

Murder mysteries, even the bad ones, are fun. It’s really easy to find a whole lot of badly written murder mystery novels that are still great reads because you’re just dying to find out whodunnit. But finding those that actually stick with you long after reading them, the way any good novel does, can be a bit more complicated.

From true classics to modern cases, these murder mystery books will keep you guessing until the very last page. Yes! I love young adult books but I’m open to adult books to. This novel is teen boarding school fiction meets murder mystery, I believe its 450 pages. In its core, its not just a murder mystery, but still.

The novel falls into the genre of crime fiction, and was preceded by Koko and followed by The Throat. The book was published by Dutton, won the 1993 Bram Stoker Award and was a 1994 WFA nominee.

I'm really into murder mysteries (usually the kind where there's sevral cases to solve) or just good mysteries. The novel revolves around the mystery and the MC is trying to solve it. There should be multiple cases in the book. It doesn't necessarily have to be a murder, or even a crime, as long as it's a goid mystery. Bonus points for comedy (not necessary) Bonus points for genius MC (not necessary, but the stories usually tend to be much more intresting if they can puzzle even a genius) Bonus points for ecentric MC (not necessary, basically MC with a quirk or just wierd). cherryclan, Jan 29, 2018.

I couldn't put this page-turner down. This chilling mystery has a tight, intriguing plot and interesting characters. At its core, Ms Rehner explores the social problem of violence towards women. The moral dilemma the protagonist, reporter Lily Ross, must address is the validity of revenge and vigilante justice when the system of justice fails women who are victimized by monstrous men. In other words, are there times when a murder is "just?" This is Ms. Rehner's first mystery novel. I'm looking forward to reading more from her.
Hi --I realize it is a little unorthodox for an author to write her own review, but I believe you'd really enjoy this book if you gave it a try. It won the Arthur Ellis Award for best first novel in 2004. It's exciting. It's set in Toronto. I'd love to know what you think. Cheers.
