The MC, John Knox is something of an agent at large who flies under the bridge of lawlessness to bring about a resolution of his clients troubles. His client, by no means a benevolent social worker, has focused on the slave trade of young girls in the very heart of civilized Europe. A well organized ring of slavers have set up shop in Amsterdam under the noses of the police.

Alex Kava does it again. Seemingly disparate events and characters begin to interweave with such intricacy that it is diabolical in the presentation. And such research and description of viral outbreak (Ebola) to a few "special" people and the potential panic it could cause nearly panics me. FBI Special Agent Maggie O'Dell is up to her neck in virus and a "mad" serial killer this time around using her profiling talent to search out the killer with her partner Tully right on top of it with her. As always, tension, wild theories, difficult clues and twisting plots make for an energetic read. And then there is that Nick guy. Hmmm. A really great read.

I read this book in December of 2014. Although Exposed was written well before this year, the recent Ebola outbreaks in Africa that was traveling to & confirmed in the United States gave this book in extra chilling factor . Although the killer was a bit obvious by the halfway point in the book, Alex Kava did incredibly well with developing the characters and their stories . Maggie's love interest is certainly lacking in this book and there is not much passion for the sexy side that usually accompanies thrillers like this to even out the gory suspense factors. I, as a newly devoted reader of the Maggie O'Dell series, wish Kava either let Nick & Maggie get in on, or phase him out, and bring in some strapping man to sweep the strong FBI agent off of her feet! This is a great read about a complicated woman, in a complicated profession, with REAL flaws and the people who surround her. When beloved characters are exposed to a deadly virus, the race is on!

Alex Kava is the best author I have read in a long time. Her books are extremely hard to put down so be warned you will lose sleep. I bought every one of her books and read them in order as they were written I have written a the same review for every one of her books

I just love books with disease outbreaks! They are just so disgusting, yet so very entertaining! This one was a real change for the series as a whole, too. And though it was surprisingly sad, its fast-pace made it hard to put down! The structure separated it from the previous books as well - I really enjoyed the incorporation of the old letters. The plot was also more unpredictable than some of the earlier books. Only two more books are left in the series to date. I really hope that more developments continue in the overarching characters and their relationships!

I have been an Alex Kava fan since her first book and she is my FAVORITE author. I love Maggie O'Dell and the theme of her books. This is a must have and i am so happy to be able add it to my collection!!!!!! I couldn't wait to get this book and once I received it I couldn't put it down!! I love how all of the characters are very real. Also, how the characters from past books are included in the whole series. I don't want to give away any details...other than to say this book will keep your interest cover to cover. Many thanks to Alex for another fanastic book!!!!!

Fast read. The reader is pulled into the story from the first sentence.

Reviewing "Exposed," by Alex Kava is very simple...Loved It. However, I suggest that, if at all possible, you start the Maggie O'Dell series at the beginning, which is "A Perfect Evil." Enjoy
I've always like Alex Kava's Maggie O'Dell books. The story is always good and holds your interest. I like all of Alex Kava's books and always read them. Usually wait for the Kindle or paperback to come out and than see which is the more economical. Even though I have an E Reader and I love it I still enjoy actually holding a book in my hands.
