This is the sequel to Maria's previous book "Daddy's Little Earner" and I read this as soon as I finished the first one. This little girl lived through hell -- and survived! But she didn't come through it unscathed. She marries a man who turns out to be controlling and abusive and she eventually escapes but life is not easy and she continues to struggle, although now she is a mother of 2 little boys. Very sad story but well told. I recommend both of her books and hope she is living a happy and peaceful life now.

I would hope anyone working with children will read Mari Landon's two books. We should all be more alert to the signs of child abuse.
This book should certainly be an awaking experience as to
how abuse as a child carries into adulthood. Mari's story should be an inspiration to anyone who suffered a difficult childhood.

I've read Daddy's little earner, so I had to read this. I'm glad I did. It and me sad, angry, and then turned to happiness and respect for Ria. This book wasn't just written, it was Lived and I could feel that. Awesome read.
