inasmuch as I become conscious of my shadow I also remember that I am a human being like any other. The shadow Jung refers to represents the capability of man to do malevolence. I think Jung is telling us that if we understand our capacity to do evil, we have a real shot at harnessing our capacity to do good.

A Canadian icon gives us his final book, a memoir of the events that shaped this beloved writer and activist
The Happy Adventure, despite all that Farley and his Newfoundland helpers could do, leaked like a sieve. A Canadian icon gives us his final book, a memoir of the events that shaped this beloved writer and activist. Farley Mowat has been beguiling readers for fifty years now, creating a body of writing that has thrilled two generations, selling literally millions of copies in the process. In looking back over his accomplishments, we are reminded of his groundbreaking work: He single-handedly began the rehabilitation of the wolf with Never Cry Wolf.
The SS Newfoundland was a sealing ship involved in a disaster known as the "1914 Newfoundland Sealing Disaster". Between March 31 and April 2, 1914, 132 sealers were stranded on the ice floes. During their two days and nights on the ice, 77 men died; another man later died from his injuries in a hospital in St. John's. On March 30, 1914, Newfoundland was jammed in ice off the northern coast of Newfoundland.

Newfoundland is a large island off the east coast of the North American mainland, and the most populous part of the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. It has 29 percent of the province's land area. The island is separated from the Labrador Peninsula by the Strait of Belle Isle and from Cape Breton Island by the Cabot Strait. It blocks the mouth of the Saint Lawrence River, creating the Gulf of Saint Lawrence, the world's largest estuary.
Newfoundland is noted for its natural rugged beauty and the areas I saw reinforce that perception. St John is one of the oldest cities in North America and is a friendly, warm, and colorful city. The people of this quaint city could not be friendlier. During my short stay we took a bus tour that took us to a picturesque fishing village, Cape Spear, and Signal Hill. Fishing is the heart and soul of this beautiful country and even though the fishing industry has been devastated by the collapse of cod stocks. Cod even though in short supply still is a popular dish
