Practical applications of a deeply emotional topic- both depression and the Atonement. The husbands point of view will pierce your heart if you have ever had the privilege of holding up another for ANY reason as they suffered a serious trial. The sons perspective is useful for ANYONE with teenagers healthy or struggling mentally as a guidepost to both discern between the two as well as tools to effectively hear their pain. Ofcourse the main authors voice is incredibly warm, smart, honest and most of all triumphant. Because of how she overcame, not just that she did. Its a page turner you will race through while holding your breath..then slowly study again and again after. We have purchased kindle copies twice and paper copies to lend or gift to others.
Depression is not in my family's story nor anyone we have given it to. The content is that universal.

One of my dearest friends has suffered from this malady for years, but evidently it was hidden behind her marvelous sense of humor. I did not understand why she couldn't just decide to be happy and count her blessings...until I read this book. It was immensely helpful to read three points of view about it. I ordered a copy from my friend and asked her later if it was what it was like for her. She said, "Pretty much." I am rereading it again to identify ways to support her in this.

Good suggestions for today's world
Great book, written by someone who understands depression. For years I've struggled to find the words to express the feelings, and she does so with ease. Very helpful
