I searched all over the internet and library catalog for children's books that deal with blending families. This one was excellent for kids ~7 and up (I think). It shows how a child reluctantly deals with her mother's new relationship and impending marriage. She tries to disrupt the process, but ultimately the family comes together. I was a single mom for the first 6 years of my son's life. I felt he needed a lot of explanation of how our lives were going to change by adding a "daddy." This was one of several books I found very useful. It's also just a really good story and a good read for kids.

My niece thoroughly loved this book. It touched a number of topics that she's familiy with. Learning to share a parent with someone else!, and dealing with anger to name a few. We would definitely recommend!
