I read this book from cover to cover the first time I got it and have bought 5 other copies as gifts for friends who have said the SAME THING!!! It is the BEST book I have read since THE LINCOLN CONSPIRACY, and by the way, The last 4 chapters read very much like an extension OF THAT very BOOK!! I won't give any thing away except to say that RETURN OF THE ASSASSIN-JOHN WILKES BOOTH is most assuredly a MUST READ BOOK for every Lincoln Assassination buff Bar none!!!

THis book is fascinating and love the documentation making this so factual. I have not finished reading it yet as I stay so busy but insist on reading at least one chapter a day. Had one on Dr. Samuel A. Mudd that I just finished reading before this one and recommend that one also. thanks for this book. will keep this one.

One thing that is strongly in favor of the official story of the Booth conspiracy: that it IS the official story. Official stories cannot be refuted when they are published, because to do so is to threaten those who publish them, i.e., the government. Immediately after they become official stories, famous historian with grand reputations write books exploring the various details of the official story--but never contradicting it. You know in history there can only be one official story. What about other and in some cases OBVIOUS glaring errors in the official story that other historians have had temerity to explore? These historians find their reputations ripped to shreds. The Booth history has been further hindered by the refusal of the Booth family to participate. Simple DNA testing would have laid many rumors to rest, but no dice here. Alternative histories of the assassination will probably always be on the fringe. Believe what you want to, but approach each history with an open mind. How good are the sources? How logical are the conclusions? Where are these conclusions actually supported by the historical record, for example the transcripts of the tribunal? The official story has turned theory into fact and in ruining the names of a number of good historians, has kept credible facts from the American public that should be allowed to see. Jameson uncovers some of these. Look for the evidence and remember the difference between fact and opinion.

Do not allow yourself to be convinced by amateur, opportunistic and deceitful history. The huge amount of genuine confusion and mystery which still surrounds the assassination of Abraham Lincoln should not be discounted or swept under the rug. Neither should it allow the propagation of such utterly untrue and patently false theories as this.

Yes, for many years, a mummy toured the country, reportedly the corpse of John Wilkes Booth. It was a carnival side-show. That is all this book amounts to.

I have read this book from cover to cover since i got it and i am of the firm belief that the John Wilkes Booth Claimant David E. George in 1902 was indeed the real Booth and that he had escaped capture from the law after assassinating President Abraham Lincoln in Fords Theater back in 1865, and that a confederate soldier by the name of 'John' 'William' 'Boyd' was killed in Booths place!.Read this gripping book and judge for yourself!.
