Brigadier General Harold Douglas Briggs, CMG (29 September 1877 – 13 September 1944) was a senior Royal Navy and Royal Air Force officer who played a leading role in British naval aviation during the First World War. Briggs was born 29 September 1877. After joining the Royal Navy as a young man, Briggs showed steady career progression and by 1908 was on the staff of the Admiral Commanding Coast Guards and Reserves.
