I just started reading this book and wish I had found it sooner. I am a student and in the middle of a program. This book appears to be a very useful tool for future counselors. Highly recommend it.

I recently changed career paths and decided to pursue therapy as a profession. This book was recommended to me and I found its contents to be highly valuable. Though I just began reading (I'm about 2 chapters in), so far I have found this book to be very effective in assisting with developing problem lists and case formulation. It is a definite must read.

With the advent of managed care, and a greater emphasis there really needs to be more of a focus on treatment planning in graduate schools to ensure that our clients-to-be receive the best and most appropriate care possible.
The authors of this book have developed a methodology designed to streamline the treatment planning process and provide for greater accountability. Using this book will help the practioner answer the questions:
(1) How can you tell if a client is improving?
(2) What is working?
(3) What is not working?
(4) How can we provide concrete evidence of treatment efficacy?
This book belongs on the shelf of every practioner.
