This collection is the second of two volumes devoted to metacognition, cognition, and human performance. In volume 1 emphasis was placed on basic theoretical issues in metacognition; volume 2 deals with the application of metacognitive principles to the. fields of education and clinical remediation. Overall, I found the volume quite informative and indeed enjoyable.

We didn't really know much about metacognition then, of course, but then most other people were in the same predicament. They certainly interested in, or concerned with metacognitive sorts had, as clearly evidenced by the notion of "metaplans", in Miller, Galanter, and Pribram's Plans and the Structure of Behavior.
