Why Men Fight is a 1916 book by mathematician and philosopher Bertrand Russell. Printed in 1917 in response to the devastations of WWI in New York by The Century Co. Russell was born in Ravenscroft, the country home of his parents, Lord and Lady Amberley.

Why Men Fight is a 1916 book by mathematician and philosopher Bertrand Russell. His grandfather, Lord John Russell, was the youngest son of the 6th Duke of Bedford. In 1861, after a long and distinguished political career in which he served twice as prime minister, Lord Russell was ennobled by Queen Victoria, becoming the 1st Earl Russell

Shelves: philosophy, economics, politics. The title is a little misleading, as the series of lectures were originally given and published as 'Principles of Social Reconstruction' in 1916 at the height of the First World War. They were later published in the USA under the title 'Why Men Fight', against Russell's wishes.

digytal soul
A lot of talk with no action . The author can go on for pages without getting to the point ! Also the author is sexist and racist causing me to discount the few points he makes.

The book arrived ahead of schedule. The book itself has been an eye opener for me. I do not tend to adhere to his views.
