A series of poinent perspectives. I found each one highly effective in causing me to eliminate the control of the personal ego in my life. Over time, with persistent dedication to task, I experienced a new sense of freedom and openness towards a spiritual lifestyle. Perhaps you will too.

I loved this book. I was not going to purchase it at first glance, then I received an email endorsement from Dr Wayne Dyer. I am so glad I brought this book. Dr Hawkins has achieved a state of enlightment (unlike many other spiritual authors) and has returned to teach the rest of us about the nature of our ego and how we transcend it. I find The Course in Miracles can be preachy and somewhat defeating in it's text on the ego. But Dr Hawkin's material is inspiring and very specific on the ways we diminish the power of our ego. Unlike many spiritual books, he gives you the actual tools to use as a spiritual "doer" not just a spiritual "seeker". There are so many jewels in this little book, it will be a lifetime companion.

I loved this compact little book filled with David Hawkin's quotes from many of his books. It's wonderful carrying it around so I can read it whenever I have to wait....in line at the store, getting my car worked on, waiting for someone in a restaurant or eating by myself. I love what David has to say about the human physic and our spirits. I have 5 of his books and new to his writing but so far I love his work.

It's contents are short paragraphs that you will want your mind to ingest as often as possible to washout any lesser thoughts until you can begin to recognize how it applies to who you thought you were. David R. Hawkins M.D. Ph.D. has an easy way to get the spiritual truth across in much easier to understand ways of speaking/reading for the western minded. Worthy for your collection of Spiritual books. It won't disappoint.

It's a shame that 'Letting Go' will be his last work as Dr. Hawkins passed away last fall. We're fortunate to have the fantastic material he's left behind, though, and 'Dissolving the Ego, Realizing the Self' summarizes it beautifully. If you're new to Dr. Hawkins work, I'd suggest starting with another text to put the short, meaty bits of reflection and inspiration found here into context. However, if you've been around the Hawkins' block or have done a fair amount of self-inquiry to now, you'll be pleased with the selection of what he argues are some of the most enlightening snippets from his previous work.

In general, David addresses the needs of those who need a weightier explanation of the experiences a spiritual student might have after working on the dissolution of self for some time. In short, this and many of his other books are not for first-timers. For a first-timer, I'd suggest Tolle's 'Power of Now' as a good place to begin. Good luck to all aspirants and I sincerely hope David R. Hawkins will help put difficult times into a new light. He certainly has done this for me.

One further note about what Amazon offers: The print version is quite a bit smaller than you might expect. Amazon mentions this in its description, but it is small. Nice for portability but might be difficult to read for some. The Kindle version has full-size pages.

Surprisingly good for a work reviewing the output generated by a primary source. The elements chosen provide material for a well considered oversight but more importantly made a well considered commentary on attainment in and of themselves. Very good, excellent commentary!

First, these are quotes taken from the writings of David R Hawkins, not David Hawkings. As such, this has been a popular book. However, be aware that Scott Jeffries, who did the work of compilation, gave himself permission to do some minor editing here and there, as he says in the introduction. Also, he didn't feel it necessary to reference his quotes, thereby removing the context. Both of these lower the quality of the book for me.
Such clarity! This book can be read and reread for years to come and will keep on revealing extraordinary, magical, truths as one progresses through life. There are subjects that David Hawkins gets into that I'm not familiar with, mainly calibration, but there are also huge treasures to be discovered in his works. Lose yourself into this little well written book and find happiness.
