In his book entitled Bloody Valentine published in the early 1990s, Cardiff-born author John Williams described John as a bullet-headed 6ft-something guy built like the proverbial brick shit house. Around 1988 the Docks police figures John Actie for Butetown’s heaviest cocaine dealer, a Yardie-connected drug baron, Williams wrote. The jury heard that the five accused men had killed Lynette to make an example of her over a drug debt. The police presented a scenario in which all five men had somehow come together and made their way to the flat where they took it in turns to stab her to death.

John L. Williams is the author of six books, most noticeably his Cardiff trilogy and Bloody Valentine (which the police force tried unsuccessfully to ban). He was born and still lives in Cardiff.

My Bloody Valentine is a 1981 Canadian slasher film directed by George Mihalka and written by John Beaird. The plot tells about a group of young adults who decide to throw a Valentine's Day party, only to incur the vengeful wrath of an assailant in mining gear who begins a killing spree. Conceived and produced entirely over the course of around a year, the film was shot on location in Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia, in the fall of 1980
