His initial clients were simply based on college classmates who needed representation and Trope had the studies and - importantly - the smarts to pick up the ball and run with it.
Trope was a sports agent from the time he was a 21-year-old senior at University of Southern California, USC, in 1972 until he retired from the business in 1985. Subsequently, after Trope's graduation from Loyola Law School, he was admitted to practice law in California in 1987
