Wel
First a caveat. I am fortunate to work in one of the districts in Delaware that has contracted with Lewis and Walpole for intensive professional development and in-service work taught by the authors. I am a believe that teaching reading skills and strategies in every content area only makes sense and yields results. Lewis and Walpole provide practical strategies that really do work. This is not a panacea for all of this countries education woes. These strategies require lots of work on the teacher's part; but i have seen the results in my classroom. At first PALs reading drove me crazy with the chaos. However after the comprehension and basic reading ability in my struggling readers improved I was sold.

Additionally bringing outside reading material into my classroom that ties into my lessons is a winner. I can almost see the light bulb clicking on as they read and connect to what we have studied. Amazaing! Some of my stuents ask to do more reading and do PALs.

I was extremely pleased with this book, it's condition, and the speed with which it arrived. Not a bad book to read either!

My work group reads books together. Often we read topics related to the common core ELA standards. I am a math coach. This is the first book that gave me ideas of how I can use Math Literacy in the classroom. It was an easy read and included suggested templates. This is a must have for your educational library.
