Cash Box was a music industry trade magazine, originally published weekly from July 1942 to November 1996. Ten years after its dissolution it was revived and now continues as Cashbox Magazine (with "Cashbox" a single word), an online magazine with weekly charts and occasional special print issues. Cashbox is one of several magazines that publish record charts in the United States. Its most prominent competitors are Billboard and Record World (known as Music Vendor prior to April 1964).

This book makes available the wealth of data contained in Cash Box's country album charts over a 25-year period. The information, previousy available only through a search of the weekly charts themselves, has been completely integrated and accessed via artist and album title entries.
