This book was one of the most heart rending, stirring narratives I have ever read. The Narrative of Frederick Douglas is a must read for all Americans to embrace OUR flawed but extraordinary history of the United States of America. Frederick Douglas is a profoundly gifted writer that tells his story in a way that is poetic. Douglas is a pillar of the unwavering spirit to withstand atrocities, hardships and pain of life to overcome and succeed as one of the greatest Americans who has ever lived.
