Great for beginners in philosophy. Provides and excellent introduction to little known yet popular Dvaita school of philosophy. We most often take indian philosophy as Advaita school, which believes world is an illusion and ultimate purpose of a soul is to become one with God, however Dvaita school believes that world is real and God's creations are real as well. It also try to prove with "Pramanas" that Soul and supreme soul ( God ) are different, in fact goes to propound that there is inherent differences in character and behavior between souls( jeevas) as well. Also the author has introduced couple actual texts of the ancient philosopher Madhva, I found the Katah Lakshana, very interesting as it provides a fantastic window into how debates were conducted in ancient India, very complex yet conducted in a diplomatic way.

I highly recommend this book for everybody, particularly for youngsters. They will get a glimpse of the brilliant intellectual framework that is underneath vedantic Hinduism and mAdhva philosophy. Most of the Hindus are not aware of the rich intellectual framework underneath the vedanta philosophy. All students of philosophy will gain a lot by studying this book.
