All men at some point in their lives need a special kind of encouragement and direction for dealing with the fears and struggles they face. com User, December 8, 2009. It's sad to me when a transparent Christian and a fine writer dies and his writings completely disappear from public view. Keith Miller is one writer who deserves to be read and could do readers a great deal of good. He tells the truth and writes honestly from the heart. And stories taken from his own experience are both constructive and interesting.

This book is a compilation of very short studies on lessons the author learned as he tried to live a Christian life, but not from the perspective of having all the answers. It is more like he painfully pulls back his skin and allows us to look in on the workings of his mind as he first becomes aware that an issue exists then slowly a light dimly begins to shine and revelation follows. Keith Miller writes in the section "To the Reader" that this book is "only some footprints of a Christian wanderer on the inner journey who is finding tremendous hope in the midst of life."

The original title was simply "Habitation of Dragons" with Isaiah 35:7-8 quoted above the title on the cover. There was no reference to meditations for men. In his notes to the reader he also writes, "I have written these pages for men and women who would like to spend a few minutes every day thinking and praying about the problems of the Christian way." I know I will read this book again and again, gaining deeper understanding every time.

One of the most honest books written by a pastor about his struggles and how God reaches down to pick us up time after time. An easy read and one I genuinely looked forward to picking up each morning.

I loved this book! I have personally used this as a devotional two times. I just today bought 5 used copies to use as devotionals with my family. This book is pre Swindoll but reminds me of how he addresses the secret sins of the heart. I cannot recommend this book enough.

I've used this little paperback so many times over the years, the pages are falling apart. Rev. Miller's ability to laugh at his own foibles and change his own attitudes are inspirational for those of us who know we are never going to be perfect, but who would like to keep on trying
