You really spend time with Jesus, in a way that can't be explained without.

Women--especially moms--often feel they are short on time, especially time for contemplation and spiritual growth. Oxygen is like taking a deep, relaxing breath for the soul. It gives busy women a way to grow spiritually even as they invest time and energy in those around them. This weekly devotional from the author of Breathe focuses women on Gospel passages using several classic spiritual disciplines, such as listening prayer, journaling, solitude, and silence. Keri doesn't water down these practices to make them easy for people with tight schedules. Rather she focuses on the basics that allow women who are craving more of God to experience a special connection with him regularly.

Oxygen: Deep Breathing for the Soul
This book was not what I expected it to be about. It is not like a regular devotional. It is different. I don't remember specifically how it just was. I returned it if that helps. So it did not make much of an impression on me.

In Oxygen, Keri guides us on an intimate walk, a slow, deliberate, enlightening, delicious walk with Jesus. She says take your time through her book, and she's right. She ministers best to us as we're together unhurried, coffee in hand, Lord in heart. Her weekly stops in the life of Jesus remind us of His deep love and how much He craves our quiet presence - and how much we need it. In the study and embrace of selected days of His life, we find ourselves somewhere in every encounter, and Keri's tender insight into applying Jesus' words and actions long ago to us today is a blessing. Keri offers delightful slivers of wisdom and deep compassion for where we are in our lives, all of us - with challenges to face and wholly dependent on our Savior, as it should be.

This is an amazing book. It's not a devotional, it's a journey. You read a story in the Bible over and over with different exercises that include journaling, meditating on the scripture, and being in the scene with Jesus. Through these exercises you really feel the love that Jesus has for you. I have never read anything like it. It's just a peaceful and very spiritual journey through the New Testament. It is not a book to be rushed through. It is a book to move at your own pace. The author gives permission to move slowly without hurrying which I think is brilliant and personally helped me to gently move through this book instead of speed read it. It really is oxygen for the soul.

This is a wonderful book. I want to buy it for everyone I know. It frames your devotional time with God with the idea of freedom in Christ. It provides a framework for meaningful time with God reflecting on His word and allowing him to transform you from the inside out. It is not just another book about reading scripture and thinking about a few question. This book takes scripture and helps you internalize it, reflect on it in a new way and helps you create space to let the living word of God truly live in you. I highly recommend this book to those seeking a devotional book that truly inspires you to spend time with God.

I have not read this book at all but have however read the about this book section in it and this book is an HUGE buyer beware. This book is depressing because this author has not shown anything uplifting about the Saviors life and has also taken it too far when talking about the Godhead the way they have. This is NOT what the Lord our Savior taught at all. If you want to get closer to the Lord then please do what the Lord did himself. He taught by example by living it. His words and his deeds went hand in hand. He prayed with all sincerity, opened his heart, mind, and spirit up to his father and our father (he was humble), had faith, charity, hope, he was kind and gentle, and so on. He not only said, he did what he said. Do DO don't say it and your actions do not follow your words or vice versa. This author has stated the complete opposite of what is in the Holy Words and examples the Lord gave. This authors methods of things are also very dangerious to not only the mind but the body and spirit as well and should not be tried at all. The only persons actions that should be emulated should be the Saviors himself. Please take heed. Thank you for taking the time to read my review.
