The book was from the 1970's or the 1980's and I think it might have been a Harlequin Presents. The Marati Legacy - Dana James. Son of Adam - Margaret Way. Cyclone Season - Victoria Gordon.

There were two threats on her horizon â? the natural one and the man! When Holly flew from England to stay with her aunt in the remote Pilbara region of Western Australia, she had only the vaguest knowledge about cyclones, and certainly had never experienced one. But all too soon she discovered that Wade Bannister was a veritable human cyclone, creating a whirlwind of emotion and tempestuous passion from which she might not emerge unscathed. Especially with the lovely Ramona Mason involved.Classic Romance from Australiaâ?s tropical north-west â? the Pilbara.

One of my favorite romance books. Thankyou

Like all of Victoria Gordon's books, this one paints such a breathtaking portrait of remote Australia and the minerals mining boomtown that I was actually inspired to google many of the places the author wrote about and read more on Wikipedia. The way he describes the landscape (yes ... V.Gordon is a he) transports you right into the scenery. The cause of the initial antagonism between the couple and many of the obstacles they face are believable enough. The overbearing soon-to-be-ex girlfriend is catty enough to be appropriately dislikeable and a credible contrast to the heroine. The whole thing about the sick aunt, however, not so much. These two don't like each other and, by the end, I was left wondering why all of a sudden they did. He's overbearing and what's with the whole 'force kiss her to show her who's boss' thing?

Not a waste of time to read because of the interesting ride to another country and way of life, but as far as romance goes, meh...
