Battles upon battles. An accidental ally that was never expected. Simply awesome. Just read this. You won't regret it. Another highly recommended fantasy novel

This was a good series and recommended for anyone that likes an epic fantasy story. Had to find and buy the final book of the trilogy here at Amazon. Nice price and quick delivery to help close the story arc.

Sara Douglass has done MUCH better. This felt rushed and uninspired. I would have rather waited a much longer period of time and gotten something that was amazing to read. This also didn't make much sense at various points, as if the editors were asleep on the job. Don't take this as an attack on the Author; she's done some incredible work in the past and I am still very much a fan. I just thought that this book, sadly, was much lower quality than her normal output.

In the final installment of the DarkGlass Mountain trilogy, Sara Douglass brings us back to a world of magic and turmoil.
Elcho Falling is under siege, from both without and within. The Lealfast have become dangerous in their quest for power, and the One continues to be a hidden threat.
Can Elcho Falling be saved? Only by trusting in a traitor will hope flower once more.
The conclusion of this companion-series to Douglass' Wayfarer Redemption series wraps things up while simultaneously leaves the reader wishing for more. A fine fantasy author, taken from the world much too soon!

I was really looking forward to this book and the conclusion of this trilogy, but have to say I was a bit disappointed. The trilogy started off strongly with The Serpent Bride and had me greatly invested in the characters and what would happen. I was a bit disappointed with the second installment and hoping this final book would bring a satisfying conclusion. It just didn't do that. It was interesting and an easy read, but left something to be desired. I was highly disappointed in the main protagonist - Maximillian - basically doing nothing the whole book. I think what I loved about The Serpent Bride is that it was a character driven story and this last book was plot driven and I think that caused a lot of what happened to not fit or make sense with the characters. I also agree with the other reviewers who mentioned that the magic being used was not cohesive and easily changed to fit the plot, which added to the lack of continuity in the story.

This book "series" does not compare well to the early series featuring Atlas in Tencendor, etc. The first book of the Infinity series started out fine, but in the subsequent books the plot and characters began degenerating into outlandish (although fantasy is outlandish by definition!!!) twists and turns, too many magical transformations, etc. It almost seemed that Ms Douglas would move her story forward, get stuck in a plot or character quandry and then, on the spur of the moment, dream up yet another kind of way to bend or break the "rules" (which didn't seem to really exhist) or invent a new capability or transformation to move the story and character(s)forward. By the end of the book it felt like there wasn't much cohesiveness to this world or its inhabitants, not much deabth and I had lost interest pretty much in what was happening....I finished the book just because...... Not looking forward to reading any more about affairs in the world of Infinity.
I loved this trilogy! I particularly loved this book, which is the third in the trilogy. And I loved, loved, loved how she ended it! I would have given it five stars had the editing been better.

Sara Douglass gives us a nice, solidly written trilogy that is complete and could stand alone without the first two trilogies. We get to see some old favorite characters from the previous sets and we get to meet some new folks who you either love or hate with absolute abandon. We also did not end up with another whiny sort-of heroine whom we know we are supposed to root for but just can't quite make ourselves. (Ah-hem. Faraday.)

The author left things wide open for another trilogy. With how she tends to write them, we won't see it (if she writes it at all) until all three are complete or nearly so. This is why I loved how she ended it. It's a nice, clean ending that does not leave the story hanging. And she left plenty of fodder for imagination while we sit and hope she does write us some more Incarii tales.

The only spoiler I'm going to give is to say that I hope she writes some short stories because I want to know what new mischief Axis and his god-buddy Isaiah get into. Because you know these two are going to get neck-deep into something. They just can't help themselves.
