Asymptotic cyclic cohomology faithfully reflects the basic properties and features of operator K-theory. Asymptotic Cyclic Cohomology. Lecture Notes in Mathematics.

Asymptotic cyclic cohomology faithfully reflects the basic properties and features of operator K-theory. It thus becomes a natural target for a Chern character. The central result of the book is a general -Roch theorem in noncommutative geometry with values in asymptotic cyclic homology. Besides this, the book contains numerous examples and calculations of asymptotic cyclic cohomology groups. Show all. Table of contents (11 chapters).

Excision in cyclic homology theories. In this paper we establish excision for Z/2Z-graded cyclic homology theories, including periodic, entire, asymptotic and local bivariant cyclic cohomology. Our work is a modification of the approac. More).

Asymptotic Cyclic Cohomology (Lecture Notes in Mathematics). by Michael Puschnigg. The aim of cyclic cohomology theories is the approximation of K-theory by cohomology theories defined by natural chain complexes

Asymptotic Cyclic Cohomology (Lecture Notes in Mathematics). The aim of cyclic cohomology theories is the approximation of K-theory by cohomology theories defined by natural chain complexes. The basic example is the approximation of topological K-theory by de Rham cohomology via the classical Chern character. A cyclic cohomology theory for operator algebras is developed in the book, based on Connes' work on noncommutative geometry.

Its development, mainly due to Alain Connes, is providing an increasing number of applications and deeper insights for instance in Foliations, K-Theory, Index Theory, Number Theory but also in Quantum Physics of elementary particles.

The author gives the relevant mathematical background in some detail.

2 Hopf cyclic cohomology in non-symmetric categories.

2 Hopf cyclic cohomology in non-symmetric categories. Huron University College, Western University, Department of Mathematics, Western University, London, Ontario, Canada. Abstract In our previous work, Hopf cyclic cohomology in braided monoidal categories, we extended the formalism of Connes and Moscovici’s Hopf cyclic cohomology and the more general case of Hopf cyclic cohomology with coecients to the context of abelian braided monoidal categories. In this paper we go one step further in reducing the restriction of the ambient category C being symmetric.
