I strongly recommend any of Swokowski's Calculus books. He explains the material, and provides easily understandable proofs and theorems. Other text books tend to be heavy with problems where the answers have a lot to do with remembering tricks from earlier math courses. Swokowski focuses on Calculus. If you really want to understand the subject, as opposed to rote problem solving, this is the book.

This book was rated as in "GOOD" condition and was priced at only $5.14, but the binding was severely broken, and the edges of the book (top, side, and bottom) had an overall, spotty, light tan discoloring, possibly some kind of tan colored mold. I wipee it down with alcohol to assure any possibility of mold was killed, and have been isolating it away from where I keep other books so as not to contaminate them. I don't anticipate reading this book, and more than likely, it will find its way into the trash soon.

If this is what Amazon.com calls a used book in "GOOD" condition, then I don't want anything to do with any more Amazon.com used books. Period.

Had this book in my calculus courses as a first and a second year college student. One of the best university text books I owned in my entire undergrad curriculum. It is graphically (geometrically) explicit and the analytical content are very lucid. It was almost a culture shock because I had never been able to understand calculus with confidence before this book. It has now been 15 years since then, but I still refer to the book from time to time.
