Knowing how to build a predictive model is an important skill for anyone working with data. This paper presents the results of an empirical study involving three behaviours and three, wellknown learning algorithms. This work will provide a brief overview of linear regression and introduces a few algorithms generally not found in undergraduate texts.

Students will enjoy reading this book, and will stay engaged with its wide variety of real-world data in the examples and exercises. The authors believe that it’s important for students to learn and analyze both quantitative and categorical data. Alan Agresti is Distinguished Professor Emeritus in the Department of Statistics at the University of Florida.

This book is not intended to present the mathematical theory of statistics, so we won't go into details.

The kindle edition is garb. The formulas are not formatted correctly and is some cases wrong (through omission). That is a pretty big problem for a Stats book. I opened a ticket with Amazon, and they said that they will contact the publisher. If the publisher fixes the equations, I will update the review. But for now. Save your money the Kindle version is useless.

I was able to download the book but it looks like the access code for MyStatLab is not included in the e-textbook, so that may need to be purchased separately.

Also cannot be downloaded on multiple devices due to the license limit. Very frustrating!

DO NOT BUY. If you need a MyStatLab access code this book does not come with it.

This book accomplishes two basic goals. The book describes how to use a number of common statistical methods. However, more important, the book provides the foundation needed to develop a deeper understanding of statistics. The author writes extremely clearly with precise language and easy to understand text. The examples are excellent. I would consider this to be one of the best written college texts in general.

This was a really good book for a really tough class. It went in depth with explanations and had a lot of resources to help you learn. The standard odd-number answers were in the back of the book, and it needed very little supplementation to its curriculum that it covered.

If your professor recommended this book, just know that there are MANY worse options out there!

horrible....didn't know it was all paper sections

Purchased this brand new.. doesn't come with the lab access code. Ridiculous considering what I paid for it!
Great book for an even better price and in like new condition.
