Although most current linear algebra textbooks are still notorious for being very poorly written/presented, there ARE a few books out there that are magnitudes better than Beauregard's book. It is not my strong suit, just thought I'd get my opinion out there for fellow engineering students, or students in general who were confused with this book).

The quality of this manual is basically almost useless. There are zero explanations or instructions to the solutions to the problems. The problems with the solutions are just the odd numbered problems from the back of the textbook. I give it 2 stars tho because it was easier to flip thru this manual than to the back of the textbook. The font is larger than the textbook also, so that was a plus. Only get this as a tool to assist in looking up odd numbered problem answers. Do not use this for help with finding the solutions.

This manual is utterly worthless. I purchased this book hoping that it would be as helpful as my calculus solutions manual was (with nicely worked out problems so you could figure out where you went wrong); needless to say it wasn't anything close. The answers are copied verbatim from the back of the book, without a single bit of work shown. In most instances it was more helpful just to throw a note card into the answer section in the text than it was to try and dig this out of my bag just to get the same thing. Don't waste your money on this book.

I was forced to use this book for an intro course and it is awesome. I dipped into a handful of other books and found this one far more concise and with better example problems every time. It doesn't get five stars for one reason: its not available electronically

I expected this solution manual to contain the solutions to all of the exercise problems, however it only contains detailed solutions to the odd numbered problems. The main book has answers to odd numbered problems, this just expands on the solution steps. Sometimes it doesn't go very far and it skips steps, but it was after all very useful.

As a junior in electrical engineering, this is one of the worst math textbooks I have ever encountered. I am only though the first chapter but the author introduces terms without explaining them, builds upon these undefined terms, then introduces them with the most cryptic definitions. Or occasionally the author says "it is best explained with a few examples" and proceeds to leave out important details.

Unfortunately my class enforces the requirement for this book by assigning homework problems from it. The book is so poorly written that I have begun using Differential Equations and Linear Algebra (3rd Edition) by Henry Edwards and David Penny as my main source and it has not let me down.

So far this book has decided to make its own notation for things rather than use what everybody else uses. My professor is constantly having to tell us the difference between "The books version" and "The real version" I thought it was maybe just my professor that was different but I have an older linear algebra book that agrees with my professor. So I think its just the book that's different. I cant even use it to study for the test because everything is written different than what my professor wants. Its really annoying.

Unlike other solution manuals that actually show step by step actions to solve the problem this manual pretty much just gives the final answers without explanation. And only to odd number problems. its pretty a waste of money, its about the same as what is already in the back of the book.
I was disappointed after I got the Solutions Manual. Not all problems are done by the Author, its not thorough as the calculus solutions manual. For the test study and homework purposes , it helps ME. If you have a really good instructor for this course, dont waste ur money to buy this manual. So far, its one of the worst solutions manual I've used.
