Very informative, comprehensive material and I enjoyed reading it. Mr. Weiss is a product of the north and consequently has completed numerous studies dealing with such things as ice out, gin clear water and bass tied to rather deep water. He does his best to try and relate to southern lakes but for the most part can't seem to break away from his home waters. None the less, his work is very in depth and well thought through. You might say he is the northern version of the late Doug Hannon whose work on the Black Bass is without parallel. The book was written at that point in bass fishing history when things like Bass Pro Shops, Bass Masters Tournaments and the likes of Bill Dance and Roland Martin where just coming into view and a portable depth finder was the I Phone of the day. This is a great book to learn from and to see what kind of thinking was being developed in the early 1970's. I just wish it included more "stained" water fishing and less of the clear drinking water variety.

This is the most informative book on bass fishing that I have ever read. This book goes into detail of bass structure, feeding patterns, topograph lake map reading, seasonal bass movements as well as daily bass migrations and water oxygen content to find bass. This book is for an angler with a general knowledge of bass fishing already, looking to kick his game up a notch and not really for a beginner. I really enjoyed reading this book.
