Everything you've read before but waaaay less interesting. For a beginner the only Tri book you'll ever need
is Gale Bernhardt's Triathlon Training Basics. Although a bit outdated it still works.

I wouldn't reccommend this book... by the time i decided to try a triathlon I had already know the basics which are in this book.... I think I was looking for a bit more... although I was (am) a beginner, I had already educated myself before deciding to try triathlons so this book was not helpful...

One good thing in this book, a practical look to the Trainig Strell Loads and how to manage it during the workouts preparation.

The Complete Book of Triathlon Training
I have a huge collection of sporting books but this is my favourite book so far.
This book really lives up to its name as being the complete book of triathlon training.
I first thought it was just about the Ironman Triathlon but on opening the pages I soon realised it was from start to finish every distance every ability from Sprint Triathlon Olympic Tri 70.3 & Ironman.
It is layed out very well. Easy to follow and understand. Each chapter clearly explains why and what to do rather than just tell you. Great color pictures.
Training programmes for all abilities and a lifestyle & stress training points system allowed me to work out what training I should do.
I partially love the race week and race day time line of what to do when, it made perfect sense.
For those NEW to triathlon there is even a a to z of triathlon jargon.
For anyone with limited time this book actually saves you time, the author has put his 30 years experience into this book packed with
useful information. I have learnt so much I am much more confident competing.

This is a MUST have book for anyone involved in Swimming Cycling Running or Triathlon. A Great Christmas Birthday or just as present.

Received book as a gift. I have read it cover to cover several times and have learned so much towards improving my training. There are so many informative tips which I found beneficial; I think they would benefit any age or lifestyle. This book is truly an A-Z encyclopedia of all things triathlon. There are so many details and explanations on what to do to maximize your performance. Some other books on the same topic don't explain the 'why' like this book does. There is a section on nutrition which is one of my favorite sections and is relevant to athletes and non-athletes. I like the flow of the book and it is packed with color photos which are well placed in-line with the topics. I also like the extended cover flaps that can be used to mark your page. I highly recommend this book for all levels of triathletes; there are many tips that will help novices to seasoned improve their performance. I plan to give a copy to one of my triathlete friends for a Christmas present this year.

Having competed in triathlons for many years I am always on the lookout for new books and information which could help improve my performance. I was therefore pleasantly surprised when I read this book and found it to be useful and informative at all levels. Whilst I am an experience athlete this book not only catered for my needs but also pointed out important information for new triathletes. It helps you understand the fundamentals of the sport as well as aids you in developing of your own training schedule. It also points out many of the simple mistakes we all make and gives clear guidance on how to avoid these pitfalls. I think this book is a great addition to any Triathlon library and is a must for new and experienced triathletes alike.

As a final note the Authors personnel experience shines through in this book. It is a very easy book to read and navigate and can be read either cover to cover or on a piece meal basis depending on your preference. Each sections deals with specific subjects and clearly guides you through the sport.
Mark is an incredible athlete with a wealth of knowledge to share. Whether you're a beginner getting ready for your first sprint triathlon Or an experienced athlete training for a double Ironman, Marks book contains something for everyone.
Marks book is comprehensive, well written and very easy to understand. Guaranteed to enrich the performance of athletes at every level.
